One thing my closet was missing was a modern black leather jacket. I did have one, but it felt a little too cropped and fitted for my current taste. And although, my style leans classic, I love adding a bit of edge whenever I can.
I recently received this leather jacket from Sézane and, as I always do, immediately started styling it with pieces already in my closet. I ended up with seven outfits to share. I could have created a few more spring looks, but most of my dresses and skirts are currently packed away, so this round-up focuses on pants. I did include a few additional outfit ideas at the end that I’m planning to try once everything is unpacked.
This is a newer version of the Will Jacket from Sézane. It has a chore-style silhouette with oversized front pockets and hits around my upper thighs, which I love for layering. In terms of sizing, it runs a bit small, especially through the shoulders and arms, so I’d recommend sizing up if you’re between sizes. For reference, I’m wearing the XS. I also own it in Camel Suede and Denim Blue, and I truly find it to be one of those versatile pieces that’s easy to dress up or down.
Black Leather Jacket Outfits
Look One: With A Gray Tee, Jeans, & Ballet Flats

I’m truly a jeans and tee kind of girl so this outfit is one of my faves. I’m wearing a gray tee under the leather jacket with relaxed wide leg jeans, and python print ballet flats. I’m planning to take these jeans to the tailor (they are quite long on me) but I’ve just done a couple little folds to shorten them temporarily. I added a pendant necklace which I think pairs really well with this longer style of jacket.
With A Tee, Trousers, & Flip Flops

It’s still too cold to wear flip flops obviously, but once the weather warms up, I’ll be wearing this outfit. Right now, you could sub some loafers for a similar vibe. This look felt easy and cool and was surprisingly comfortable.
With A Tee, Jeans & Sneakers

This simple outfit is perfect for a weekend with my kids, exploring the farmer’s market or going to kid’s activities. It’s easy to wear yet feels cool, too.
With Denim On Denim

Of course, I had to style my leather jacket with denim on denim, and I loved it. If denim on denim feels a little too Western for you, try pairing it with black accessories or outerwear instead of brown. It gives it a little edge.
Buttoned Up With A Scarf

I’m very into the idea of a jacket as a shirt like this. I just buttoned the leather jacket up leaving a few buttons undone at the bottom for ease and movement and added a bandana at the neck. I wore heels with this to elongate my legs since you can’t see my waistline. I loved this look – it felt new and modern. I’d wear this out to dinner with friends or to a more casual evening event.
With A Button Down & Loafers

This is my business casual take. I have on dark wash jeans which look very polished, but if you can’t wear denim to the office, just swap for some trousers. Again, I just think this makes a more buttoned up look feel more edgy and cool.
With A Sheer Top & Heels

And lastly, this is how I would dress up this leather jacket for a date night. Per usual, I didn’t stray from my date night uniform of jeans and a nice top. This is a sheer brown button up shirt from Mango which is now sold out, but I found some similar options for you above. Any kind of silky, flowy top would give similar vibes though.
