Summer is the season I lean more into dresses, especially easy styles that look chic but are comfortable enough for mom life. In this post, I’m rounding up some summer dresses to shop in different styles from breezy linen dresses and flowy casual options to more formal slip dress styles and fun mini dresses, too.

KNIT DRESSES
Knit dresses are a newer style I’ve been trying out. They are admittedly a little more fussy to fit and a bit too formal for my everyday life as a work from home/stay at home mom, but I think they would be perfect for a summer date night or another more fancy summer occasion.
SLIP DRESSES
Slip dresses are another more formal option, but they can definitely be styled more casually as well (see eight ways to style a slip dress here.) I especially like wearing a slip dress with sneakers and a casual layer like a denim jacket, bomber jacket, or button down.
LINEN DRESSES
When the weather warms up, linen dresses will be your best friend. Linen is a breathable, light fabric that works best in hot weather. They tend to wrinkle easily, but I recommend just embracing the wrinkles as part of the casual summer life.
FLOWY DRESSES
I most often turn to flowy midi dress styles for everyday. They are so comfortable and also fairly breathable as well especially in a cotton poplin material.
MINI DRESSES
I don’t often wear mini dresses, but I like having one or two in my summer wardrobe when I feel like being brave with my style choices. I always wear a pair of cotton biker shorts underneath mine for more coverage and peace of mind.
