There is a lot of style content available these days, but the type I find most helpful are known as ‘style sessions.’ Seeing a piece of clothing styled multiple ways is so helpful especially when attempting to maintain a minimal wardrobe.
This black blazer was in my September capsule, but I actually never ended up wearing it. What a waste of capsule space! So today I thought I would try to come up with different ways to style this black blazer so perhaps I’ll reach for it more often. It might even wind up in my November capsule!
The blazer I’m styling today is from Old Navy. It is a boyfriend fit and a knit fabric that feels less structured than other blazers. This works well for my casual stay-at-home mom lifestyle because it appears less business-like and is much more comfortable.
Keep It Casual
Blazer // Tee // Straight Leg Jeans // White Sneakers
This is the look you’ll most likely find me wearing if you run into me at the park with my kids or running errands. Comfy, yet pulled together.
Keep It Chic
Blazer // Cream Sweater // Dark Wash Jeans // Loafers
I really love pairing cream with black. And of course, a pair of dark wash skinnies are always classic and chic.
Keep It Cool
Blazer // Graphic Tee (H&M, sold out) // Skinny Jeans // Taupe Ankle Booties
Whenever I wear this graphic tee, I feel pretty cool (I’m not). I love combining a piece of clothing that seems fancy (a blazer) with something casual (a graphic tee).
Keep It Feminine
Blazer // Dress (old from Target) // Brown Ankle Booties // Headband
This outfit surprised me. I usually prefer a more masculine style wardrobe, but I loved how these pieces came together. This would work with any dress. I added a small brown belt to define my waist, and these booties are the perfect heel height.
Keep It Sexy
Blazer // Bodysuit // Black Skinny Jeans // Black Pumps
I really dig an all black outfit (so chic!). This is a great date night look. This clutch was my grandmother’s, and its very special to me. I always wear it whenever I’m getting fancy, which is not that much the days.
Keep It Professional
Blazer // Olive Button Down // Wide-Leg Crops // Cheetah Mules
This is for all you professionals out there who aren’t allowed to wear jeans to work. Truth be told, these wide leg crops are the only non-denim pants I own. Twenty-four year old auditor me would be shocked. Yes, I used to be an auditor for a large company. That was a long time ago. LOL.
