gift ideas for the hostess; holiday gift guide for the hostess

If you’re planning to attend any get-togethers this holiday season, it’s nice to bring a small gift for the hosts. Entertaining is a lot of work from preparing the table, to cooking and the cleanup. In this post, I’m rounding up some thoughtful gifts that will let your hosts know you appreciate their time and effort. It doesn’t have to be expensive (most of the items on this list are under $25), just something small the hosts can enjoy after the party has ended. Happy holidays!

Holiday Gift Ideas For The Hostess

1 // A Fun & Personal Ornament

A cute ornament that fits your host’s personality is a thoughtful and sentimental gift. Personally, I love this croissant ornament, but Anthropologie has loads of adorable options based on your host’s interests.

2 // Holiday Tea Towels

A house can never have too many tea towels, and I love the idea of gifting a set to use during the holidays.

$25 at west elm

3 // A Favorite Cookbook

It’s a good bet that if someone has volunteered to host, they probably enjoy cooking, too. Gifting the gracious host with one of your favorite cookbooks is a nice touch. I highly recommend this gem by Caroline Chambers filled with delicious yet easy recipes to feed a family.

$25 at amazon

4 // Fancy Hot Chocolate

Skip the Swiss Miss, and gift your hosts a tin of some fancy hot chocolate. This small brand from Portland is really rich and delicious plus the tin is adorable, too. Maybe add a cute holiday mug to go with it.

$15 at amazon

5 // Good Coffee

If you know your hosts are coffee drinkers, gifting them a bag of nice coffee beans is sure to be a hit. You could totally buy a locally roasted bag from your favorite coffee shop or bakery, but Blue Bottle is a good brand out of California.

6 // Maldon Sea Salt Flakes

These fancy sea salt flakes are a favorite of mine, and a lovely gift for someone who loves cooking and hosting. This combined with a bottle of good wine would be a gift I would love to receive.

$8 at amazon

7 // Set Of Serving Spoons

A set of nice serving spoons would be a lovely gift for a hostess. This simple gold pair works with a lot of home decor styles, and I’m sure they would get a lot of use by someone who likes entertaining.

$30 at crate & barrel

8 // The Hygge Card Game

This game filled with questions meant to spark meaningful conversation with family and friends, would make a fun gift for the hostess.

$20 on Amazon

9 // Cookie Cookbook

For the hostess who loves to bake, this cookie cookbook filled with creative recipes from the one and only Dorie Greenspan, would make the perfect gift.

$18 at amazon

10 // Sea Salt Body Scrub

Entertaining is a lot of work. Why not gift your hostess with a nice bath product to allow them to unwind after a long day. This one from Osea is my absolute favorite and transforms my shower into a spa experience.

$45 at amazon

11 // Nice Olive Oil

Once you try a nice olive oil like this you can never go back to the cheap stuff. This would make a nice gift for the hostess that is also a bit of a foodie.
