I first tried Biossance skincare after impulse purchasing their award winning eye cream after standing in front of my bathroom mirror having just turned 35 and noticing the fine lines around my eyes that seemingly appeared out of nowhere. I immediately noticed how luxe and moisturizing the eye cream was after first use. After that, I purchased one product after another. In full transparency, I was sent a couple products through their PR mailing list, but I repurchased every one again with my own money. In this post, I’ll be sharing a Biossance Skincare review including all the products in their line I’ve tried.
Over the past few years, I have tested other less expensive brands, but I keep coming back to Biossance. I definitely favor some products over others (I’ll go into detail below) but overall I find their line to be highly effective and very hydrating. It works particularly well for my dry skin type.

ABOUT BIOSSANCE
Biossance is a skincare brand mostly targeted to aging women that produces skincare products formulated with squalane oil, a derivative of fermented sugarcane. I believe all their products in their skincare line contain some amount of squalane oil.
Their line of skincare falls into the mid price range with most products priced between $40 and $70. If I had to recommend only three products, I would choose the Squalane + Copper Peptide Plumping Serum, the Squalane + Vitamin C Rose Oil, and the Squalane + Marine Algae Eye Cream.
PRODUCTS I’VE TRIED

Biossance Squalane + Vitamin C Dark Spot Serum
As I’ve aged, my sun spots have really popped up on my face (if you’re still young, APPLY SUNSCREEN DAILY!) This product contains a white shiitake mushroom extract and10% vitamin C to decrease the look of dark spots and instantly brighten skin. I’ve been using this product daily for about one month and have noticed a slight fading of my dark spots. The brightening effect is minor in my opinion however.

Biossance Squalane + Copper Peptide Rapid Plumping Serum
I love this stuff. My skin soaks up moisture like a drink of water, and this product contains not only hyaluronic acid to hydrate skin but also copper peptides that stimulate collagen production and make your skin look more plumped. I use this every morning and every other night before I apply my retinol.

Squalane + Vitamin C Rose Moisturizer
I’m always looking for products that brighten my dull ‘maturing’ skin, and this moisturizer does the trick. It contains Vitamin C and fermented lemon peel to brighten skin and even skin tone over time. I prefer to use this as my AM moisturizer and a heavier moisturizer in the PM.

Biossance Squalane + Vitamin C Rose Oil
This is one of my holy grail products. It’s quite pricey at $74, but it lasts a long time. It is a hydrating oil that also contains vitamin C to brighten and rose petal extract to calm and soothe skin. I use this in the PM after applying my moisturizer to really lock in hydration. You can also use it in the morning as well.

Biossance Squalane + Marine Algae Eye Cream
This was the product that first introduced me to Biossance. Eye creams have a notorious reputation for being expensive and ineffective, but for me, this one works. It plumps the skin around my eyes and also reduces fine lines over time. I use it in the morning and night.

Biossance Squalane + 10% Lactic Acid Resurfacing Serum
I like to use a chemical exfoliator about 3 times a week to help remove dead skin and improve my skin tone and texture. This product is effective, but gentle. I alternate this product with my retinol every other day so I don’t irritate my skin.

Biossance Squalane + Omega Repair Cream
This is a rich and hydrating moisturizer that I use at night. It contains squalane oil, ceramides, and omega fatty acids to nourish and plump your skin.

Squalane + Retinol Night Cream
I never thought I had sensitive skin until I started using retinols. Finding an effective retinol product in a gentle nonirritating formula is difficult. I had been using Paula’s Choice 1% Retinol Treatment which is strong and effective but easily irritated my skin. This retinol is much more gentle but seems to me not quite as effective in improving texture and wrinkles.
