Guys, we are only a few days away from the official start of Fall! Although let’s be honest, I’ve already been partaking in pumpkin everything. I love this time of year!

Today, I wanted to share a few favorites from this month – what I’ve been watching, listening to, reading, eating and wearing. Maybe you can find some new favorites among this list.

Reading….

The Things We Cannot Say by Kelly Rimmer

This historical fiction book that takes place during WWII was absolutely heart wrenching. I cried several times. One of the best books I’ve read this year. If you’ve read and loved the Nightingale, you will love this book.

Raising White Kids by Jennifer Harvey

I’ll admit that I haven’t been great at exposing my kids to diverse situations or teaching them how to be antiracist. I understood teaching my kids to be ‘colorblind’ was not the answer, but I was still a little lost. It is a HARD subject to talk about with your kids. This book gave some insight into the race conscious approach to parenting which emphasizes taking an active role in pointing out racial differences, exposing kids to different races and especially talking to kids about racial injustice. After reading this book, I feel more confident in approaching this subject with my kids. They are never too young to learn about being antiracist.

Listening to…

The Michelle Obama Podcast

This podcast was released a few weeks ago on Spotify. In it, Michelle Obama talks with different guests about various relationships that impact our lives (our spouse, ourselves, our siblings, etc.). I loved her book, Becoming and have the same feelings about this podcast. Love it.

Unlocking Us by Brené Brown

Brené Brown began as a researcher who studies shame and vulnerability. She is famous for her TED talks on the subject as well as several books she has written. In her podcasts, she explores the different emotions associated with the human experience. She is witty and intelligent, and her stories and conversations have had me nodding along.

RomComPods

If you’re into romcoms or ‘chick lit’, this podcast is for you. Its a bit cheesy, but I don’t mind. The first season was released earlier this year, and I’m eagerly anticipating the second season which will be released in October.

Watching…

Schitt’s Creek

If you haven’t watched this show, what are you waiting for?! The writers have somehow managed to make this spoiled rich family who suddenly find themselves broke endearing. It’s historical. We are currently on season four, and I’m dreading the encroaching finale. Eww, David!

The Morning Show

If you have Apple TV, check this show out. I wasn’t that into it after the first episode, but it starts getting interesting in the second episode and beyond. I have such an ingrained view of Jennifer Aniston from Friends so it is taking me awhile to get used to the complicated character she plays on this show. Reece Witherspoon is another favorite actress of mine as well.

Eating…

Limoncello La Croix

A friend said it best when she said this tastes like cake. It absolutely does. I love cake. Enough said.

Oui by Yoplait

I always buy greek yogurt because it has the most protein and I can get it without added sugar, but I grabbed these on a whim when I was at Target. They are so creamy and delicious and have a simple ingredient list. You can also reuse the adorable glass jars for another purpose. They sell lids on the Yoplait site, but I plan on buying a candle making kit and diying some seasonal candles.

Wearing…

Coin Necklace made by Natalie Borton

I’ve never had a piece of jewelry (besides my wedding band) that goes with almost every outfit I wear. This necklace is beautiful and adds a little something extra to an everyday casual outfit. She has limited release online sales monthly and each piece she sells is gorgeous. I have my eye on a pair of earrings next.

White Sneakers

These white sneakers from Madewell are so comfortable. I want to wear them every single day, but I try to limit myself to a couple times a week. I love pairing these with a nice top for a more casual daytime look. The Court Sneaker from Everlane is also very similar and gets great reviews.
