spring capsule wardrobe for april 2026

In this post, I’m sharing my spring capsule wardrobe for April 2026. If you’re new here, I share monthly capsule wardrobes along with outfit ideas. During the month, I use the capsule to create my real life outfits which I share on Instagram daily. Spring is one of my favorite seasons to dress for, and I loved creating this capsule. You’ll see a few items repeated from prior capsules as well as a few pieces that are new. I’m slowly transitioning out my heavier wardrobe items from winter, but you’ll still see a few sweaters as it’s still quite chilly here in Chicago.

Below I’m breaking down each piece in the capsule (along with sizing recs if you’re shopping!) I also have tons of outfit ideas using the pieces in the capsule below so be sure to scroll down.

Spring Capsule Wardrobe: April 2026

Tops

Blue Shirt // There is something about this light blue color that just screams spring to me. Plus, a button down is such a versatile piece in your wardrobe with so many styling possibilities. This one is from Quince, and the quality is excellent. It fits true to size for a relaxed fit.

Striped Tee // I just purchased this striped tee from Sézane for this capsule wardrobe. Stripes are a must-have print for me in the spring months. This one is a heavyweight cotton material with a slightly boxy fit and cropped length. I took my true size.

White Tee // An absolute essential in every capsule wardrobe I create. If you’re building your own capsule, use whatever white tee you have, but if you’re shopping, this one from Sézane is a great option. It is a heavyweight cotton with an oversized fit and longer sleeve length. As far as white tees go, it’s the most elegant one I have.

Red Tee // I wanted to add a little color to this capsule in honor of all the spring blooms we’ll be seeing pop up this month. Red is a particular favorite color of mine to wear. This tee is also from Sézane, and it is thinner than the other two tees I’ve linked with a more classic but slightly boxy fit. I size up one in these tees.

White Blouse // Spring brings out my feminine side, and I always include a white blouse like this with some intricate details like lace or ruffles in my spring capsules. This is the prettiest thing I own. Honestly, Sézane makes the best white blouses.

Black Cardigan // A button front cardigan like this is a nice change from a plain sweater. You can play with the buttons to change up the look. I’ll be styling this with my white skirt and all my denim, but it would look equally chic with a pair of trousers for the office. This one is from Quince and fits true to size for a slim (but not tight) fit.

Navy Sweater // I used to never wear navy, but in the last few years, I’ve really been drawn to it. It’s just a polished and chic color option that pairs well with so many other colors. I particularly love wearing it with black. This one is a heavy cotton material with a boxy fit. It fits true to size.

Black Tee // My most worn spring uniform is a tee and a light jacket. I like to have a few tee options to switch things up a bit. Black always adds a little edge to a look, too. This tee is the same one as the red tee I linked above. I like to size up one in these tees.

Ivory Sweater // I just received this sweater from Quince as part of an upcoming collaboration and just had to include it. It’s cashmere so it fits more drapey than the cotton sweater I linked above. The color is more ivory than cream as it appears on the website. I took my true size.

Brown Shirt // This chocolate brown button down shirt is a cotton poplin and has a relaxed fit that isn’t too oversized. I took my true size.

Outerwear

Suede Jacket // I included this suede jacket in my March capsule, but it ended up being too cold and rainy to wear it. It it classic but with a little nod to the ’70s. I love it! I recommend taking your larger size or sizing up in this jacket from Sézane as it runs small in the shoulders and arms.

Leather Jacket // Another one of my favorite spring jackets is this leather bomber jacket from Quince. I get so many compliments on it when I wear it. It’s real leather that is slightly distressed giving it vintage vibes. I took my true size, and it has an oversized fit.

Denim Jacket // This denim shirt jacket is from Gap. It’s on the thinner side so it will work best for warmer days. Since it wears like a shirt, I also plan to wear it completely buttoned up for another styling option. It fits true to size for a relaxed fit.

Black Blazer // On days I want to feel more polished and put together, I always reach for a blazer. This one has a relaxed fit that isn’t too oversized. I’ve owned it for years.

Trench Coat // This will probably be my most worn piece of outerwear this spring. I own a few trench coats (this is another favorite) but I’m including this classic one from Quince in my April capsule.

Bottoms

Medium Wash Jeans // These are my most versatile pair of jeans, and the pair I wore the most last month. They are just a classic high waisted straight leg medium wash denim. The high waist works well for my short legged frame. I took my true size for a relaxed fit. Size down if you like a closer fit, but be aware that cotton denim like this relaxes with wear.

Light Wash Jeans // Light wash jeans feel very springy to me. This is a new pair I purchased from Quince – their first style of rigid denim. The fit is really nice, but they are slightly thinner than my Agolde denim, FYI. You just can’t beat the price point.

Tan Wide Leg Jeans // I included these in my February capsule, and I missed them in March. They do come in and out of stock on the brand’s website. There are a few sizes here as well. This pair from Agolde looks very similar and this pair from Reformation as well (Reformation runs long though, FYI, but they have free hemming in store.) I took my true size.

Black Jeans // This is a classic pair of high waisted straight jeans from Everlane. They are super high rise which I love. I recommend going up a size for a more comfy fit.

Ecru Jeans // These are the same denim as the black pair but in an ecru color. I recommend going up a size in these as well. I think white denim looks best when it fits looser.

White Skirt // This white skirt from Quince is just the prettiest. I love styling it with button downs and sweaters on colder days and tees and tanks on warmer days. I took my true size.

Shoes

Leopard Flats // I just purchased these from Sézane after having them on my wishlist for awhile. I can already tell I’m going to be wearing them all the time. Leopard print basically goes with everything, and it’s a great way to add some interest to a basic outfit.

Sneakers // A pair of slim profile sneakers is a must have for my spring capsules. I don’t wear them often, but on days when I plan to walk a lot, they are my go-to. These fit true to size.

Brown Mary Janes // These were gifted from the brand Bared Footwear. I discovered the brand last fall and quickly became a fan. Their shoes are so cool but also super comfortable with arch support.

Brown Loafers // These loafers are also from Bared Footwear. I love this light brown color for spring and the suede adds some texture. Here’s a similar pair from the same brand.

Red Woven Flats // These red flats are a recent purchase. I wanted to add a pair of fun, edgy footwear to my April capsule so I purchased these. I’m excited to style them this month!

Accessories

For this capsule, I picked a few accessories to add some interest and complete my outfits:

Sunglasses: cat eye sunglasses, Wayfarer dupes, brown frame sunglasses
Earrings: chunky knot earrings, chunky silver hoops
Polo Baseball Hat
Gold Chain Necklace (mine is sold out from Sheena Marshall Jewelry, linking similar)
Bags: suede tote bag, brown sling bag (ASHLEYR15 for 15% off), black crossbody bag
