Pinterest is a huge source of style inspiration for me. When I’m suffering with decision fatigue staring into the abyss that is my closet, I often consult my Pinterest style boards for outfit ideas. In this post, I’m sharing some chic winter outfit inspiration I’ve saved recently. Note that these are all simple outfits you can recreate pretty easily. These outfits aren’t that complicated or trendy. These are outfits for real women for everyday life.
I’ve broken down each look into an outfit formula with optional accessories and added some style notes to further highlight why I think each look works. Also note that I reuse many of the same pieces in these looks. That’s the point of a functional wardrobe.
Before I show you the looks, I wanted to give you some tips for using Pinterest for outfit inspiration:
1 // Create Seasonal Style Boards
I like to create a board for each season that way everything isn’t cluttered in one spot, and I’m not looking at summer outfits when it’s 10 degrees outside. I have one for fall, winter, spring, and summer.
2 // Build Your Algorithm Carefully
To be honest, the Pinterest algorithm is a bit too one note. If you even click on one image of a taco recipe, you’re going to see twenty more taco recipes in you feed. Be very selective about what you click. The real inspo lies in the similar pins that show up when you click on an image. I end up down a rabbit hole clicking on suggested pins inside suggested pins. This is where you can find more unique pins.
3 // Use the Search Bar
If you have a piece that you have trouble styling, use Pinterest to search for styling ideas. For example, if you’re looking for black blazer outfits, put that into the search and see what you find.
Shameless plug – you can also use the search bar on my blog to do the same thing (message me if you want me to style something!)
4 // Turn off AI Generated Images
I don’t know about you, but I don’t want to be inspired by perfect AI images – I want the real stuff. To turn off AI generated images, go to your Settings, then Refine Your Recommendations, then GenAI Interests and toggle those off.
Chic Winter Outfit Inspiration From Pinterest
Outfit Formula: White Tee + Black Blazer + Black Trousers + Sneakers

Optional Accessories: Scarf, Belt, Woven Bag, Sunglasses
Style Notes: I thought this look was styled so well. Typically a full suit looks so corporate, but she’s styled it here with a white tee and sneakers to make it feel more laid back. I also really love the combination of black and brown. This image has me considering a pair of brown sneakers for my spring wardrobe. Shop a similar scarf here.

Outfit Formula: White Tee + Sweater + Blazer + Denim + Sneakers

Optional Accessories: Aviator Sunglasses, Suede Bag, Coffee (lol)
Style Notes: I want to try layering like this – a white tee under a sweater with a blazer. I might swap the jeans for something a little bit more fitted (personal preference), but otherwise this look feels easy and effortless.

Sweater + Long Coat + Jeans + Boots

Style Notes: This image is very simple (I have suggestions for accessories below), but I saved it because I loved the combination of cream, olive green, light wash jeans, and brown boots – all of which I have in my February capsule wardrobe. I plan to recreate this look immediately! I’ll likely add some accessories of mine – like this pendant necklace and a brown suede bag.

Sweater + Jeans + Loafers

Optional Accessories: Socks, Suede Bag, Sunglasses
Style Notes: Another simple outfit to recreate with pieces you already own! I love the combination of a knit with a suede bag. She’s also got some good texture going with these croc-embossed leather loafers, too. This is an easy way to try styling socks with loafers. Personally, when I’m wearing loafers, I prefer a denim that grazes the top of my shoe without showing any ankle.

Outfit Formula: Button Front Sweater + Jeans + Loafers

Optional Accessories: White Tee, Sunglasses, Leather Bag, Belt
Style Notes: This is a simple way to style a button front sweater with jeans. I’m not sure what she’s wearing for shoes but I think a boot or a loafer would work here – a ballet flat would make the overall look a little too ‘sweet’ for my taste (you do you though!) I like the added depth of the white tee which also breaks up the overall dark vibe. I’m especially inspired by this color combination of gray, chocolate brown, and dark wash jeans though I would probably go with a relaxed fit straight leg denim instead of this slim pair as a personal preference.

Outfit Formula: Sweater + Casual Pants + Sneakers

Optional Accessories: Sunglasses, Leather Bag
Style Notes: I thought this was a cool nondenim casual look. These Salomon sneakers are very trendy right now, but wear whatever you have. I liked how the sleek hair balanced out the more slouchy, oversized look.

Outfit Formula: Button Down + Sweater + Jeans + Loafers

Optional Accessories: Sunglasses, Leather Bag, Socks
Style Notes: This is a classic combo, but I have some notes about how to do it well. First up, I love the choice of a denim shirt instead of a regular button which lends more casual vibes to the look. To copy this outfit more closely, choose a sweater that doesn’t taper at the waist so your button down falls nicely under it instead of bunching up. The bob here is an accessory unto itself, but if your hair is long, consider putting it in a sleek bun or pony for similar vibes.

Outfit Formula: Tee + Shirt Jacket + Jeans + Boots

Optional Accessories: Scarf, Belt, Suede Bag
Style Notes: This is a elevated casual look with a shirt jacket, tee, barrel jeans, and black boots. She’s added a belt, suede bag, gray triangle scarf, and sunglasses as accessories. Again, I’m inspired by the color combination here of black, gray, navy, and brown. Note that your bag, shoes, and belt do not have to match. A general rule of thumb is to wear cool tones with cool tones and warm tones with warm tones.

Outfit Formula: Tee + Trousers + Cropped Jacket + Sneakers

Optional Accessories: Sunglasses, Belt, Leather Bag, Bandana
Style Notes: Here is more of a transitional winter look with a suede jacket, black trousers, and silver sneakers. The bandana, leopard print belt, and metallic shoes make this outfit so cool! A note on the trousers here – these appear to be more of a structured cotton twill than a flowy crepe which would give a different vibe, I think (not a bad vibe, just different.) I’ve linked two suede jacket options below – one an affordable faux suede from Zara and another real suede one from Sézane that I own.

Outfit Formula: Sweater + Jeans + Loafers + Suede Jacket

Optional Accessories: White Tee, Leather Belt, Sunglasses, Leather Bag
Style Notes: Here’s another way to style a suede jacket – with a sweater, jeans, and loafers. Simple, cool, and effortless! The length of the jeans here is perfect – just grazing the top of the loafer. That eyelet bag is cute, but I subbed in a woven one which is more my speed.
