Winter Essentials: Seven Ways To Style A Sweater

I’m back with the second post in my Classic Winter Essentials series. If you missed it, I shared nine classic wardrobe winter essentials, and every week, I’m going to be giving you outfit ideas for each item. In the first post, I styled my camel coat seven ways, and today, I’m styling a basic crewneck sweater.

I’m sure you have a basic crewneck sweater in your closet, but if you’re still looking for a quality one, I’m styling this cream colored chunky crewneck sweater from Everlane. It has a dropped shoulder, batwing sleeves, and is slightly cropped. It’s also made of 100% organic cotton and is excellent quality. This is a sweater that will last a long time. I’m wearing my true size, XS. Seven Ways To Style A Crewneck Sweater

Go classic with a crewneck sweater, straight leg denim, and ankle boots

This is a classic outfit combination that I wear all the time. Every outfit that you wear doesn’t have to be super creative or ‘extra’. A sweater and boots is the perfect chic outfit. I do love straight leg denim with ankle boots though. If you don’t own a pair of straight leg denim, I love the Levi’s brand. This Ribcage denim is the best, but I also really like the Levi’s 501s that fit similarly (linked above).

I have been loving this casual look lately. The sweater and camel coat really elevate this jogger look. These joggers come in petite and tall sizes. I have the petite size.

Tuck your sweater into a mini skirt and pair with high knee boots

This look is perfect for the office or even everyday. These boots have a low heel which keeps them comfortable for all day wear. If it’s freezing where you live, add some thick tights to keep your legs warm.

Add a white button down for a layered look

For a more interesting outfit, add a white button down under your sweater. For this look, I kept my knee high boots, but switched out the skirt for some black skinny jeans. I really love pairing this cream sweater with black or washed black denim. Such a trendy color combo.

Here is another chic casual outfit. I like pairing my sneakers with a nice top for a more elevated look. This leather tote bag was gifted to me by Parker Clay, and it’s really beautiful and sustainably-made.

Wear a blazer over your crewneck sweater

I’ve been really into blazers over the last year. They are super chic and polished looking. Pair your crewneck sweater with a blazer, some straight denim, and some pointed toe ankle boots for that French girl vibe.
