It’s finally sweater season here in Kansas City, and I’m getting ready to pull out more of my sweaters from storage. I was recently gifted this beautiful v-neck cashmere sweater from Mott and Bow and in this post, I’m showing you two ways to style it. Of course, you can use any black sweater in your closet for these two looks.

If you’re building a capsule style closet, I highly recommend having a few nice sweaters in neutral colors for the winter season. Black, cream, and gray are my favorites. I really like the v-neck style on this sweater because it is easy way to show a little skin during the colder months when we’re usually all bundled up.

Black Sweater With Joggers and Sneakers

For the first look, I paired my black sweater with white joggers and sneakers for a more casual look for weekends (or everyday if you’re a stay-at-home mom like me!) I recently saw one of my style inspirations, Natalie Borton, put together a similar outfit. To create the cropped sweater look, tuck the bottom of your sweater into your bra. Of course, you can also just front tuck if you’d like to stay covered up.

I styled this look with my slim white sneakers, my favorite everyday tote bag, and some cool round sunnies for this casual but modern outfit.

Black Sweater With Straight Jeans and Booties

This second look is a little more traditional with my black sweater and booties, but I added a few touches to make the look more modern. First off, I’m wearing my mom jeans from Mott and Bow. The slightly tapered leg on these jeans make them a good option for wearing with booties.

I combined my black sweater and mom jeans with my brown boots, brown belt, and a red bag. I really just LOVE this color combination. This exact bag is old from Target, but I linked two other affordable options below.

I’m definitely adding this sweater to my winter capsule wardrobe which I’ll be posting about soon. You can use my code ‘STITCH’ for 10% off your first purchase from Mott and Bow.
