As you know, I don’t follow every trend, and I’m never one of the first to try it out. However, I’ve been watching the faux leather trend for few months now, and I decided to jump in! I love the texture and interest they add to an outfit that I’d normally wear with denim or pants. They are also really versatile as you can see in this post and can be styled casually or more dressy. In this post, I’m sharing three ways to style faux leather pants for different occasions from work, to date night, to the weekend.
Let’s talk about these exact pants which are the Petite Perfect Vintage Straight Jean Faux Leather Edition from Madewell. They have a looser fit and a straight leg. I will say the rise is a little short in these. I also tried the Vegan Leather 90s Straight Pants from Abercrombie then needed to exchange for a different size but it was sold out. If you have a longer torso, I would try the Abercrombie ones first. Both come in a wide range of sizes and lengths!

Yes, you can absolutely wear leather pants to work! I think they look so sleek and polished and add a little edge to an otherwise more formal corporate outfit. These leather pants are also more loose fitting so I think they are totally office appropriate. Here I’ve paired them with my favorite white button down that isn’t see through, a black blazer, and flats. You could wear practically any color button down you have or other office appropriate tops like a blouse or a sweater. For tighter tops, I would pair with a looser third piece like a cardigan or a blazer. Leather pants are just a fun way to mix it up!

For date night, I’ve paired my faux leather pants with a sexy bodysuit and pumps. These are my standard date night choices, but adding some leather pants makes this outfit more interesting. Just FYI, this top is so pretty, but it has weird sizing. It’s very tight through the midsection and bust so size up.

Pairing your leather pants with a casual sweatshirt and shoes makes it weekend ready or also everyday if you have a casual life like me! My exact graphic sweatshirt is sold out, but I linked a similar one that I also just ordered (I can’t resist a cool graphic sweatshirt from H&M!) You could also pair your faux leather pants with a shacket or cropped jacket for another casual look. So many options!
