Anybody else happy that we made it through January? It was rough! Even though we just had a snow storm blow through Kansas City, leaving a few inches of snow on the ground, the beginning of February is making me so excited for spring weather and, let’s be honest, spring clothes.
Today on the blog, I’m sharing some January favorites from the blog. There was a lot of denim (no surprise there, denim is the best), my favorite classic coat, the best leggings for petites, and a few affordable cozy sweatshirts, too. Most of these pieces will work really well for spring, too (the benefits of having a capsule style wardrobe!)
January Favorites
one // Abercrombie Dad Coat
I love this coat for everything from casual to dressy to workwear. I even styled it seven ways for you here! I have the XS petite, and I find it fits true to size with a little room to spare.
two // tan hoodie
I’m wearing this hoodie today, actually! It’s super affordable, and I love the rich tan color. It fits true to size.
three // 7/8 leggings
These leggings are really great quality! I’ve worn them about once per week since I bought them in early fall. The 7/8 length makes them perfect for petites, too!
four // cropped straight denim
These are another great option for petites! These are a more classic slim cut straight leg denim. They are my go-to’s for everyday and even for date night.
five // perfect vintage jean
These are one of my favorite pairs of denim, and probably my favorite style from Madewell. They are slim-fitting through the hips and thighs and taper at the legs. This exact pair that I’m wearing is sold out, but I’ve been linking a similar one in the same style with a different wash. I always size down one in this style.
six // ribbed chunky sweater
This cotton crewneck sweater is really well made. You can’t tell in this photo, but it has dropped shoulders and batwing sleeves. I like that this color will be perfect for spring, too.
seven // ribcage denim
I have never been asked about a pair of jeans more than this pair! I LOVE them. They are perfect for wearing with heeled ankle boots, but you can also wear them with flats. I went down a size, but they are pretty tight. Don’t size down if you’re curvy.
eight // tissue turtleneck
This turtleneck is a great basic! It’s lighter weight which will be nice when the weather warms up. I styled it several ways in this post! It fits true to size.
nine // cream sweatshirt
This is a great little sweatshirt for everyday. It’s from Target and really affordable. I reach for it all the time for school drop off and weekends.
