With daylight savings time, I’m definitely feeling that seasonal transition in full effect. I’m kind of just holding my breath till the weather decides it’s going to be winter. Honestly, I can’t complain because we are having the most gorgeous fall here in Chicago. In today’s post, I’m sharing what I’m planning to wear this month with my November fall capsule wardrobe. I’ve got 24 pieces in total with 30 outfit ideas - one for every day of the month.
With cooler temperatures on the horizon, I’ve added in more sweaters and more outerwear to this capsule. I also added a thin turtleneck to the mix to layer underneath for extra warmth. I've kept a few of the same pieces, added in a few new ones (some gifted and some purchased). I plan to style just these few pieces all this month in hopes that you can see what a versatile wardrobe looks like.
As always, I tried to include a more affordable alternative to any of the more pricey pieces in my capsule wardrobe. I know everyone is working with different budgets. Sizing information is also included!

intro
Fall Capsule Wardrobe: November
Tops

Gray Henley Cashmere Sweater // A new purchase from Quince, this sweater has a casual but preppy feel to it. I sized up to the small for a looser fit.
Beige Cashmere Sweater // This is one of my favorite sweaters in a new color. It’s really soft and not itchy. I own it in several colors because it’s just the best. I took my true size.
White & Black Long Sleeve Tee // These tees from J.Crew have a looser fit which I like because I feel more comfortable wearing them on their own or under a jacket or blazer. I took my true size, and it has an oversized fit.
Denim Shirt // I just purchased this shirt from AYR which is quickly becoming one of my favorite brands. I love a denim shirt in the fall especially paired with all my fall jackets and heavier coats. This one has an oversized fit. Affordable option here.
White Turtleneck // This is a tissue turtleneck so it’s best for layering as it’s a bit sheer. I plan to wear it under my sweaters, my plaid blazer, and my button downs as well. I took my true size.
Striped Button Down Shirt // I just got this new button down in from Gerard Darel. It has some structure to it but falls nicely on the body. I took my true size. Here’s a more affordable option.
Outerwear

Plaid Blazer // I included this blazer in my last capsule wardrobe as well. it’s such a good piece. Note that it’s wool and very warm - best for colder climates.
Green Corduroy Shirt Jacket // This jacket was gifted from Gerard Darel and has this cool oversized fit in a dark green corduroy. It’s pricey, yes, so I’m linking a similar option here.
Green Waxed Jacket // I have been eyeing this waxed jacket from Alex Mill for months and finally pulled the trigger. I’m very happy with this purchase - I love the look of it. Note that it has an oversized fit, but I took my true size. Here is a more budget-friendly option.
Gray Wool Coat // I’m saving this coat from Sézane for when the weather turns which it is apt to do here in Chicago. This coat fits very oversized, but it kind of makes me feel like Lucy in While You Were Sleeping (iykyk). More affordable option here.
Tan Trench Coat // I’m keeping this trench coat in my capsule again this month. For a trench coat, it’s actually quite warm. Affordable option here.
Bottoms

Indigo Barrel Jeans // You’ll see a couple pairs of barrel jeans from Pistola on this list. They were gifted, but I loved the fit so much on both, I had to include them. These have a very sleek indigo wash that is perfect for fall. Petite-friendly! I took my true size. Affordable option here (not barrel leg).
Black Full Length Jeans // These jeans are a fan favorite from AYR. With flats these fit full length on me and hit the top of the foot with my heeled boots. I love that you can dress them up or down. Affordable option here.
Ecru Denim // Bringing these jeans over my last capsule. As you can see, I love jeans and wear them most days, but I like to have a variety of washes and styles in my capsule wardrobes. These run small; consider sizing up. Affordable option here.
Medium Wash Barrel Jeans // My second pair of jeans from Pistola, these are similar to the other pair, but they run a bit longer. This pair is currently at the tailor getting a couple inches taken off the hem. Note that I ask my tailor to keep the original hem. It costs extra, but I think it looks nicer. Affordable option here.
Black Kick Flare Pants // A surprising favorite from my last capsule - I wore these so much last month. They really add some variety to my wardrobe. I sized up to the small and have the short length. More affordable option here.
Medium Wash Straight Leg Jeans // Another new pair of jeans from AYR, these have classic straight leg fit. I want mine to hit right at my ankle bone for a classic cropped fit which I think looks so good with my heeled ankle boots. I’m having mine taken up a couple inches. Affordable option here.
Shoes

Black Loafers // These loafers are so comfortable, not something I typically say about other loafers. I like wearing these with my cropped bottoms with just a hint of ankle showing. At this point in the year, I’ll start wearing these with my favorite trouser socks from Le Bon Shoppe. These fit true to size. Affordable option here.
Sneakers // I don’t think I’ve ever liked a sneaker more than these. I particularly love the slim profile which looks sleek even for a casual shoe. They fit true to size.
Brown Ankle Boots // I typically don’t wear heels unless they come in a block heel bootie. I love the height they give me but in a very stable heel that’s still comfortable. These are from one of my favorite shoe brands, Bared Footwear, who makes great quality and durable shoes that are also really comfortable, too. They are pricey, but if there is one category of your wardrobe I recommend investing in, it is your shoes. Affordable option here.
Python Print Flats // These are the same as my leopard print flats just in a different animal print. These are a bit more subtle with shades of rust and brown.
Black Ankle Boots // A classic leather black ankle boot with a reasonable heel. These make any outfit more polished and sharp. Affordable option here.
Brown Suede Chelsea Boot // A durable, weather proof boot is an absolute must for my fall capsule wardrobe. For being a weather appropriate boot, these are actually quite sleek looking. More affordable option here.
Accessories
I’m planning to use the same accessories as my last capsule so I copied this straight over from that post. I do, however, plan to add some kind of printed cashmere scarf to my fall/winter accessory collection. I’ll post that as soon as I find the one.
For accessories, I love the idea of having some signature jewelry pieces like a coin necklace (mine is old from Sheena Marshall Jewelry) and some pretty stud earrings. I’m also planning to rotate though some sunglasses, including this cat eye pair, this oval pair, and this aviator pair. For bags, I’m usually grabbing this brown suede handbag, this brown leather woven bag, or this black leather shoulder bag. We also have some date night plans so I’ll be swapping those bags for this vintage inspired beaded bag.
