I hope you had a wonderful weekend. We spent ours holed up in our house watching movies and playing board games. Although, I’m feeling much better after having a nasty cold for the past two weeks, both my kids came down with it this week. This year has been particularly rough in terms of illnesses, and I’m so ready for warmer weather and more healthy days ahead.

I snuck out Saturday afternoon for a slow six mile walk/run that took me down to the beach. I took a few moments to admire the view (it never gets old) then headed back home. I’m a much better mom when I schedule some alone time each day.

We are leaving for Hawaii on Tuesday, and after having to cancel plans over Christmas due to illness, I’m so excited to getaway for the week. I’ll be turning 40 while we are there, and I just can’t even wrap my head around that fact.

Have a good week!

STYLE

Here’s the outfits I wore this week. You can find links to all these outfits on the Daily Looks page of my blog.

FOOD

Guys, we got so much takeout this week. With an illness being passed around our family, we just did not have the motivation to cook much. I did manage to throw together a few recipes this week, including this spaghetti squash pad thai (TBH, I try to make myself like spaghetti squash but I just want the real noodles) and this recipe for turkey tacos which was yummy.

ENTERTAINMENT

After finishing up this historical fiction novel, I opted for something a little more lighthearted. I’ve read a few of Christina Lauren’s books, and they are always smart, sweet, and witty.

We also started Daisy Jones and The Six on Amazon Prime, and it is so good. I read the book a few years back and had forgotten many of the details. It’s loosely based on the band Fleetwood Mac.

I also listened to two really compelling podcast episodes this week including this one from On Purpose with Jay Shetty about developing inner confidence and not comparing yourself to others and this one from Mel Robbins about cultivating more love in your life.

NOTEWORTHY NEWS

If you’re shopping the long weekend sales, I shared all my favorite sale finds here.

How to handle the winter blues.

The best white sneakers for women.

These mesh flats are so impractical for where I live, but I kind of want them anyways.

The No. 1 trick to stop crying when cutting onions. I had never heard this before.

This Dôen top is currently in my cart. These shorts, too.

Parisian health hacks.

30 winter outfit ideas.

This lip balm was a lifesaver for me during my last cold.
